Postgame Handshake Between Mike McCarthy And Zac Taylor Turned Heads for the Wrong Reason

Several members of the Dallas Cowboys appeared frustrated with the way Monday night’s game ended. The Cowboys fell to 5-8 after a 27-20 loss at home to the Cincinnati Bengals. Dallas desperately needed a win for their playoff hopes. Following the loss, the Cowboys are three games behind the Washington Commanders for the NFC’s seventh seed. The Cowboys were tied 20-20 late in the fourth quarter, but an unfortunate circumstance changed the game in Cincinnati’s favor. The Cowboys blocked a punt, which would be a good thing in most cases. However, the ball went past the line of scrimmage.
Dallas cornerback Amani Oruwariye muffed the ball, and the Bengals would recover. Cincinnati’s offense would score on their ensuing possession to take a 27-20 lead with 1:01 to play. Dallas’ offense turned the ball over on downs on their final possession.
Star pass rusher Micah Parsons was visibly frustrated after the game, walking off the field without shaking hands with the Bengals.
McCarthy went viral for what happened after he shook the hand of Cincinnati’s head coach Zac Taylor.
A cameraperson appeared to get in McCarthy’s way when the fifth-year head coach left Taylor’s embrace. McCarthy put his hands on the cameraperson, which made the cameraperson fall back.

It’s unclear if McCarthy was trying to steady himself and the cameraperson or if he was intentionally pushing the cameraperson out of his way.
McCarthy had a questionable incident with a cameraperson following the Cowboys’ 19-12 Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers for the 2022 season. McCarthy was seen grabbing at a camera that was filming him walking off the field at Levi’s Stadium.
Fans on social media thought McCarthy shoved the cameraperson after Monday night’s loss.
“Micah Parsons storming off early, Mike McCarthy shoving camera guys. The Cowboys are cooked,” wrote a fan.
“Did Mike McCarthy just gut check a camera guy,” asked another.
“Mike McCarthy wanted to push that cameraman so bad,” wrote a fan.
“Mike McCarthy out here pushing camera guys bc his special teams player doesn’t know the rules . lol,” posted another.
