Cameras Catch Postgame Handshake Between Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers 12-6 on “Thursday Night Football,” advancing to 8-6 with the Week 15 victory.
The NFC West division rivals played in their second matchup of the 2024 NFL season. Los Angeles won the first game of the series on Sept. 22, defeating the 49ers 27-24.
Following the game between NFC rivals, Rams head coach Sean McVay and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan met at midfield.
The two shared a quick exchange just after Shanahan spoke with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
“NFL on Prime Video” posted the video with the caption, “A couple of fearless leaders.”

While McVay picked up the Week 15 victory, Shanahan still leads the head-to-head series between the two. The 49ers head coach has a 10-7 all-time advantage over McVay.
The two also have history of coaching on the same staff, previously working with the Washington Commanders. McVay played a few different roles with the Commanders from 2010 to 2016, but he was mostly known for his role as the offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016.
Before McVay garnered that role, Shanahan served as Washington’s offensive coordinator from 2010 to 2013. During that time, McVay was the Commanders’ offensive assistant and tight ends coach.
In Week 15, The Rams were led by phenomenal performances from wide receiver Puka Nacua and running back Kyren Williams.
Nacua finished the game with seven receptions for 97 yards. Williams recorded 108 yards on 28 carries while hauling in two receptions. Los Angeles is now riding a three-game win streak and is listed as the No. 2 team in the NFC West behind the Seattle Seahawks (8-5).
