Green Bay Packers: 2 matchups to anticipate when facing the Seahawks

The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks are in position for a pivotal Sunday Night Football matchup, with each team jockeying for position in the NFC playoff race. The 9-4 Packers are coming off a tough loss to the Detroit Lions but have been resilient throughout team history after a loss.

The Packers and Seahawks have met four times in the playoffs. The Packers are 15-9 all time against Seattle.

Here are two matchups to watch out for:

Packers quarterback Jordan Love is averaging the most yards per dropback, 6.9, by any QB versus pressure in a season since at least 2017. He has averaged 226 passing yards with six touchdowns to just one interception over his last four starts. Love has been on fire these past few weeks.

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith ranked 2nd in passing yards behind Joe Burrow with 3,474. He has been sacked 40 times this season. In their four-game winning streak Smith has 914 yards passing for three touchdowns and two interceptions.

RB Josh Jacobs vs Seahawks run defense

Packers running back Josh Jacobs has simply been on a tear these couple of games. In fact, he has seven touchdowns in his last three games. Jacobs became the first player in the entire NFL since 2021 with multiple games of three or more rushing touchdowns in a season.

The Seahawks’ run defense has been surging of late compared to Weeks 1 through 8. Seattle has allowed the 7th fewest yards before contact on the year.
