Miami Dolphins’ Richmond Webb falls short in Hall of Fame bid

Former Miami Dolphins left tackle Richmond Webb did not advance beyond the semi finalist stage in voting for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, the Hall announced Saturday.

Webb, 59, was a seven-time Pro Bowl fixture on the line protecting Dan Marino after the Dolphins drafted him ninth overall in 1990. He and guard Keith Sims, the second-round pick that year, were a formidable tandem on Marino’s blind side.“Very disappointed,” Sims wrote in a message to The Post.Sims had expressed hope that Webb would earn his gold jacket as a “long overdue honor.” he added, “Time has come to make it happen!”Among those advancing are running back Fred Taylor of Glades Central High and University of Miami receiver Reggie Wayne.Also advancing: CB Eric Allen, DE Jared Allen, T Willie Anderson, G Jahri Evans, TE Antonio Gates, WR Tory Holt, LB Luke Kuechly, QB Eli Manning, WR Steve Smith, OLB/DE Terrell Suggs, K Adam Vinatieri, S Darren Woodson and G/T Marshal Yanda.
