Four Chiefs Earn AP All-Pro Honors

Three members of the Kansas City Chiefs earned Associated Press First-Team All-Pro honors on Friday as offensive guard Joe Thuney, center Creed Humphrey and defensive tackle Chris Jones were each recognized for their efforts this year.

Additionally, cornerback Trent McDuffie was also honored with a “Second-Team” selection.

This marks the second-consecutive inclusion on the “First Team” for Thuney, who also earned a spot on the “Second Team” in both 2019 and 2022. Thuney ranked second among all guards in 2024 in terms of pass-blocking according to Pro Football Focus, but his late-season efforts at left tackle were perhaps even more impactful. Thuney, despite lining up across from the likes of edge rushers such as T.J. Watt, Danielle Hunter and Myles Garrett, didn’t allow a sack in his three starts at left tackle this year.

Joining Thuney on this year’s “First-Team” is Humphrey, who earned All-Pro honors for the first time in his career on Friday after leading all centers in offensive snaps with 1,112. Humphrey has been the league’s best overall and pass-blocking center this year according to Pro Football Focus, and after earning Pro Bowl nods in each of the last three seasons, the four-year veteran can now add an All-Pro designation to his resume.

Jones, meanwhile, landed on the “First Team” for a third-straight season after ranking sixth among all players in terms of pressures in 2024 (74). He was consistent, too, logging at least six pressures in seven of his 15 games this year.

Lastly, McDuffie has now earned the distinction of being an “All-Pro” for the second time in his career after earning a “First-Team” nod at slot cornerback last year. McDuffie earned the second-highest Pro Football Focus “grade” among all cornerbacks in 2024 behind only Denver’s Patrick Surtain II.

All four of those players helped the Chiefs secure the most regular-season victories in franchise history this year, and now with the playoffs about to get underway, Kansas City will take its shot at making history over the next several weeks.
