Hard-Hitting Linebacker Aims for a Return to Steelers in 2025

BALTIMORE — Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts hopes to return to the team in 2025. Roberts, who is set to be a free agent after the expiration of his two-year contract, has entrenched himself well into Pittsburgh.

Even after the team’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Roberts remained steadfast in his hopes to return to the Steelers. When asked if he wanted to return, Roberts replied emphatically ‘yes.’ He had also expressed that previously on his show on 93.7 The Fan.

“I plan on staying in Pittsburgh for the rest of my career,” Roberts said in December.

He held together a patchwork linebacker room last season when injuries hit hard, as Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander were lost for the season due to serious injuries. Meanwhile, in 2024, he ended up becoming a key piece to the team’s run defense and, overall, continued to play at a high level when the team called upon him.

Before joining the Steelers, Roberts has played with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. He is a two-time Super Bowl Champion from his days in New England and has instilled a winning culture in Pittsburgh’s room as one of the few players on the roster who won a Super Bowl.
