The build-up to the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles has been dominated by the fact that the AFC West champs have a shot at a three-peat.
But that’s not all.
For some, the NFL is “rigged” to allow the Chiefs to get back to this spot, while others have moaned about the calls the Chiefs get in crucial spots in big games and used that as a reason to justify why Kansas City has won so often over the past three seasons.
So, one could say that some are trying to take the “shine” off the Chiefs’ accomplishments over the past few seasons, but what does Patrick Mahomes think of all the naysayers?
“Honestly, I don’t really care,” Mahomes said. “I just know how we play and all of these guys on our team, we love the game, we go out there and leave everything we have on the football field and play to the best of our ability. That’s led to a lot of wins and people are going to find ways to justify why we’re winning so much, but we know why, and that’s because of the hard work and the effort that we play with.”
Message sent, Patrick. … in a crisp 3-word answer.
The Chiefs are one win away from making history by becoming the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls, and the Eagles stand in their way in New Orleans.

So, while there is all the narrative surrounding why the Chiefs are as good as they are, it is clear that this kind of noise isn’t getting into the Kansas City locker room ahead of the Super Bowl.
Why? Because Mahomes, like the rest of the locker room, simply doesn’t care about it.
