The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered their third consecutive loss at the hands of the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day. The loss marked the third consecutive game dropped for Pittsburgh.
Still, it looks like one coach isn’t afraid of the Chiefs and wants them to know as much.
“Steelers OC Arthur Smith says he hopes the Steelers play the Chiefs again: “Hopefully we are playing those guys again at some point,” reported Steelers Depot on Thursday.
Fans reacted to Smith’s message on social media.
“What a [expletive] idiot. Couldn’t outcoach them the first time, what makes you think you would a second time,” one disgruntled Steelers fan wrote on Twitter.
“I applaud the attitude but the level of delusion is scary,” added another fan.
“Im in the minority, but i hope so too. A playoff win would break the cycle. But getting revenge on the Chiefs, knocking them out would be akin to a Championship with this 2024 team. I know it won’t happen, but I’m thinking like Smuth on this one,” one fan added.
“I don’t even know what to say about this,” wrote another person.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Steelers made a deep run in the playoff and Smith gets his wish.
