The Pittsburgh Steelers will host Kansas State running back D.J. Giddens on one of their 30 pre-draft visits according to Justin Melo of the Draft Network. Giddens is a projected third-round pick, and considering the team no longer has a second-round pick after the DK Metcalf trade, Giddens slots in perfectly to what they need.
In the past two seasons, Giddens has over 1000 rushing yards, and has averaged over six yards per carry. 2024 was his best year, racking up 1343 yards, 6.6 yards per carry, and seven touchdowns. He added 21 receptions for 258 yards and a touchdown.
Just 21 years old, Giddens is one of the standout backs in the class, and ran a 4.43 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. That went along with a 39.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-10-inch broad jump.
Giddens is the fourth known visit for the Steelers, along with quarterback Tyler Shough, defensive tackle J.J. Pegues, and wide receiver Jaylin Noel. The 6-foot, 212-pound running back would be a different style of player from Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell and could be more of a lead back.
