Chiefs Issue Strong Response After Bills’ Win Over Ravens

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Baltimore Ravens 27-25 in the AFC divisional round on Jan. 19. While the Bills move on to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game, Baltimore’s postseason journey came to an abrupt end.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson nearly sent the matchup into overtime after connecting with Isiah Likely for touchdown with 1:33 remaining.
While Mark Andrews appeared to catch his two-point conversion pass, the veteran tight end couldn’t hold on. Baltimore tried an on-side kicked but Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas recovered it.
As for Bills quarterback Josh Allen, he completed 72.7% of his passes for 127 yards, and zero turnovers, along 10 carries for 20 yards and two touchdowns. While it wasn’t the Superman performance fans have grown accustomed to seeing from Allen, the MVP candidate no longer has to put the entire game on his shoulders to get a win.

Buffalo retained their perfect record at home this season, moving to 10-0 at Highmark Stadium. Next up, Allen and Co. travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Chiefs, marking the fourth time Allen and Patrick Mahomes will face off in the postseason. Within minutes of the Bills punching their ticket to AFC championship game on Sunday night, the Chiefs sent a direct message to their upcoming opponent.

The Chiefs posted, “Only the best are left. The @BuffaloBills are coming to @GEHAFIeld for the AFC Championship.” Kansas City advanced to their seventh consecutive AFC Championship game after defeating the Houston Texans 23-14 in the divisional round on Saturday.
Back in Week 11, the Bills ruined the Chiefs’ perfect 9-0 season, defeating Kansas City 30-21. While Allen and Co. won their past three regular season matchups against the Chiefs, when it comes the playoffs, Mahomes and Co. have a 3-0 record against the Bills.
The Bills-Chiefs showdown kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Jan. 26 on CBS.
