Cowboys Critics Weigh In on Lamb and Diggs Rumor: Here’s What They’re Saying

FRISCO – The 2024 season has proven a frustrating one all around the Dallas Cowboys’ locker room. A team that had Super Bowl aspirations the past few seasons and into this year has suddenly plummeted down the NFL standings. With a lame-duck head coach at the helm and starting quarterback Dak Prescott out for the remainder of the season, there is not much going in this team’s favor. Strangely, that has been especially true when the Cowboys play on their home field at AT&T Stadium. They set a new league record for consecutive home games trailing by 20 points in Monday’s 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans, dropping their fifth straight game. Currently at a 3-7 record, some players have looked for distractions from this miserable campaign.
That’s why stars CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs were spotted in a club after that defeat, as rumor has it filming a music video. Former NFL players joined many critics as they sounded off on the players’ decisions on FS1’s “The Facility.”
“It’s embarrassing…they got blown out again… and now, two of the leaders, the best players, the stars on the team. Y’all going out after the game? Optically, it just looks terrible,” Emmanuel Acho said. Notorious Cowboys’ hot-take machine LeSean McCoy echoed those sentiments: “I rock with CeeDee and I rock with Trevon Diggs, those are my homies… I hated it though.” James Jones added a different perspective on the topic. “I’ve never worried what you’re doing with your off-the-field life. … all I’m worried about is how you’re coming to work.”
Despite those critiques and the optics of the decision, the Cowboys’ season has gotten so far off the rails that a Monday night out is understandable to an extent.
To their credit, both continue to show up and compete on game day. Lamb ranks among the top five wide receivers in receiving yards and Diggs has started all 10 games after tearing his ACL last season. Barring any higher-up decision for the two to sit once the Cowboys fully embrace the tank, Lamb and Diggs will continue to show up and contribute each week regardless of outcomes. Once again, the optics of their clubbing excursion do not make for the best appearance … no it could be argued that these actions are symptomatic of the Cowboys culture problem. Still, as it relates to this individual incident … the Cowboys have much more troubling issues around this organization to sort through at this time.
