The Steelers could not do it. What’s the point of ruling the division when you’re just going to let everything slip at the end of the season? Right when the Steelers needed to win more games and hold on to their No. 1 spot, they failed miserably. Continuing their losing streak, Mike Tomlin‘s squad lost to the Chiefs on Christmas Day. Losing a game on your home turf? That’s an embarrassing look. As they added their sixth loss to the column, Steelers LB Patrick Queen shared his feelings about the bitter loss.
The former Ravens player, who snagged a massive $41 million deal with the Steelers this year, is visibly frustrated with how the team’s been playing. This marks the Steelers’ third straight loss, after falling to the Ravens last week. Patrick Queen was already upset about taking a loss from his former team in Baltimore and now he’s calling out the defense for failing to stop Patrick Mahomes and Co. “We preached it all week. We knew they would put one in the backfield,” said Queen. The Chiefs’ QB scored 3 TDs against Mike Tomlin’s team’s weak defense. “We got to the check, and we just didn’t do our job. It comes down to doing your job,” added Queen.
Steelers ILB Patrick Queen also said the defense just didn’t do their job against the Chiefs: “We preached it all week. We knew they would put one in the backfield. We had a check for it. We got to the check and we just didn’t do our job. It comes down to doing your job.”…

Patrick Queen’s frustration is understandable at this point. I mean, the Steelers’ RB already gave the defensive lineup a heads-up after they couldn’t stop Lamar Jackson and his offense. The former Ravens player was just hoping they wouldn’t make the same mistakes against the Chiefs. But nope, they let him down again. “Can’t explain it. It’s happening. We keep talking about it. Nobody is doing a thing about it. If nobody does anything about what they are supposed to be doing, then we don’t have any room for it,” added Queen.
But let’s be real, it wasn’t just the defense that failed terribly against the Chiefs, Russell Wilson’s O-Line was equally disappointing. With the whole team messing up like that in a crucial game, coach Mike Tomlin sounded pretty disappointed in his guys. After that tough loss, Mike had just two words for Russell Wilson and Co.
Well, the clock’s ticking, and the Steelers now have only one game left to play. Three teams have already locked in their spots for the AFC divisional championship, leaving only two spots up for grabs. The Chargers and Broncos are still in the mix too. (So, yeah, it’s getting crowded.) We’ll see if the Steelers sneak in directly or end up stuck fighting through the wildcard.
