Josh Jacobs’ Dream Targets He Could Recruit to the Packers in 2025

The Green Bay Packers enter a huge offseason.

They won double-digit games and reached the playoffs, but they fell short in all six matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings. The Packers proved they are a good team, but not a great one.

Adding some veterans to join a strong core of young talent can help this team level up, which Matt LaFleur hinted at after their playoff exit.

The Packers spent big on Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs last offseason, and they both enjoyed Pro Bowl seasons and made instant impacts. Green Bay has even more cap space to use, and it won’t be surprising if general manager Brian Gutekunst is aggressive in free agency.

Jacobs became the focal point of the Packers’ offense and a leader in the locker room. His work will extend to the offseason, as he revealed his plan to recruit players to Green Bay.

Who could he mean?

Who could Josh Jacobs try to recruit to Packers in 2025?

Davante Adams, WR

Randall Cobb returned to Green Bay. So did James Jones. Could Davante Adams reunite with his former team? It wouldn’t necessarily fit the Packers’ typical way of making moves, as Adams will enter his age-33 season in 2025.

That said, if the Packers believe they need an upgrade at wide receiver, it would make sense to reunite with Adams, who has familiarity with the offense and can still play at an elite level. Adams left the door open for a potential return when speaking on the Up & Adams show last week, and he would give defenses more to worry about.

If Aaron Rodgers retires, the New York Jets may want to get whatever they can in a trade for Adams, potentially making it an affordable option for the Packers.

Jacobs played alongside Adams in Las Vegas, and the two reuniting in Green Bay would be a lot of fun.

Maxx Crosby, Edge

It might be unrealistic, but we can dream about the Packers trading for All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby. Not only is he a former teammate of Jacobs’, but he’s also a fan. Crosby posted this tweet during the NFC Wild Card game against Philadelphia.

Arguably the best pass-rusher in football, Crosby would be the type of bold, championship-winning acquisition the Packers rarely make. The 27-year-old is a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time second-team All-Pro, making 42.5 sacks, 117 quarterback hits, 75 tackles for loss, and five forced fumbles over the past four seasons. Crosby is also an elite run defender.

His midseason comments fueled speculation about his Raiders future. If he becomes available, the Packers should pick up the phone and make an offer. It would cost a boatload of draft picks, but who knows, maybe the Packers can reduce the cost by including Jaire Alexander in the deal?

Da’Shawn Hand, DL

OK, this might not be a dream signing, but bringing in veteran Da’Shawn Hand would go into the low-risk-move-that-makes-sense category, if such a thing existed. Hand was part of the Alabama Crimson Tide with Jacobs.

Hand is a talented, experienced interior lineman who could bolster the Packers’ strong run defense while also offering some interior pass-rushing ability. Per Pro Football Focus, he registered 15 pressures for the Miami Dolphins this season, his most since his rookie year with the Detroit Lions.

He wouldn’t need to start every game, but the veteran would provide valuable depth and experience along the defensive line.
