Matt Schlereth, former Denver Broncos player, found himself in a feud regarding a tweet that he put out trolling Patrick Mahomes. Schlereth’s post showed a graphic of Mahomes, in which the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s head is blown up with only his legs showing. The meme remarked that this is indeed how NFL referees see Mahomes. This was of course in reference to the most recent matchup between the Chiefs and the Houston Texans.
Despite two harmless tackles, the Texans were subjected to severe penalties by the refs. Social media users immediately called out NFL officials for being very partial towards the Chiefs. In response to Schlereth’s post on Mahomes, an X user @ChiefsFocus reminded the former Broncos star that he was actually fined for cheating. Schlereth was fined $5,000 for reportedly using Vaseline on his hands in the ’98 playoffs against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“I actually never was fined it was the Chiefs crying like a bunch of B’s” Matt Schlereth responded to the user.

This snowballed into another X user showing a screenshot of a news article which confirms that Schlereth was indeed fined in that game. To this Matt Schlereth responded that he always used to apply Vaseline on his arms and armpits every game, that none of the players including himself got fined for it, and that they ‘whipped that a*s!’, referring to the Chiefs.
Matt Schlereth’s Despised Team, Kansas City Chiefs, To take On Bills Next
Meanwhile, whether Matt Schlereth likes it or not, the Kansas City Chiefs will move on to the NFL Conference Championships to face the Buffalo Bills next. If the Chiefs win this round, they will move on to the Super Bowl in the first week of February.
For the NFL Divisional Round, the Kansas City Chiefs met the Houston Texans and won the game with a final score of 23-14. In that game, Kansas City’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes went for 177 yards, completing 16 passes out of 25 attempts, scoring once. Kareem Hunt led the team on the ground with eight carries for 44 yards, with a solo touchdown, while Travis Kelce contributed seven receptions for 117 yards in defense, with a single score.
The last time the Chiefs met the Bills, Kansas City managed to win the game with an impressive 30-21. The Buffalo Bills are coming to this matchup after defeating the Baltimore Ravens with a close score of 27-25.
