This player was voted ‘Most Annoying Player’ in an anonymous NFL player poll

We have a two-time, back-to-back ‘most annoying’ NFL player award.

Congratulations are in order for CJ Gardner-Johnson…or are they?

The Athletic ran their annual anonymous NFL players poll, covering a myriad of topics, including preferred road game destinations, Taylor Swift’s impact on the league, and perhaps most notably, the most annoying player in the league.

For a second-straight year the winner is…Philadelphia Eagles safety, CJ Gardner-Johnson.

“Yap, yap, yap,” one anonymous NFL player said of CJ Gardner-Johnson’s on-field trash talk.

The anonymous poll’s results can be found below:

  1. C.J. Gardner-Johnson, S, Philadelphia Eagles: 20.9%
  2. Christian Wilkins, DL, Las Vergas Raiders: 11.9%
  3. Maxx Crosby, DL, Las Vegas Raiders: 7.5%
  4. Brandon Graham, DL, Philadelphia Eagles: 6.0%
  5. Jamal Adams, S, Detroit Lions: 4.5%
  6. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs: 4.5%

While Kansas City Chiefs star tight end, Travis Kelce is one of the most beloved players in the entire league, one anonymous player admitted that while watching Chiefs games, they get annoyed with how much on-camera attention Kelce’s girlfriend and worldwide star musician, Taylor Swift gets during the broadcasts.

“It’s because the camera pans over to Taylor Swift every time he catches a pass,” the anonymous player admitted. “It’s so annoying…that’s so annoying.”

On the topic of Kelce’s better-half, the players were asked if they believe Swift has a positive or negative impact for the league, with a massive percentage voting in-favor of how much attention the Grammy Award winner brings to the league.

  1. Positive Impact: 72.5%
  2. Negative Impact: 4.9%
  3. No Impact: 22.5%

Meanwhile, the same set of players fairly unsurprisingly voted Los Angeles as their favorite road trip during the season, which was followed by some other expected spots. One anonymous player who selected Los Angeles due to them just wanting to enjoy the relaxation and scenery of LA during their time away from home.

“I feel like I don’t want to do too much on road trips anyways because it’s a business trip,” the anonymous player noted. “But in terms of scenery, weather, and all the rest of it, probably Los Angeles.”

With another un-named player in agreeance, circling the scenery as his reasoning.

“Anytime we go to LA, whether it’s the Rams or the Chargers, it’s LA, the scenery is one of a kind.”

Other players, however, pointed to Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium as their favorite place to play due to the atmosphere with the rabid fans of the back-to-back Super Bowl champions.

“It may change but I would say Kansas City,” the anonymous player said. “The locker room is trash but the stadium and the atmosphere are cool. So, I don’t think it gets any better, which I hate saying because I hate the Chiefs.”

While others pointed to Las Vegas’ brand-new Allegiant Stadium as well as the allure of the ‘Sin City’ being their context with putting Vegas atop their road destinations.

“It’s got to be [Las] Vegas, Vegas is sweet,” one voted tipped. “You get the full glitz and glam of it, it’s a great stadium. Vegas has a ton of food options and if you’re playing a night game there, you can go out the night before.”
