One of the best quarterbacks in the league has an ace under his sleeve all the time
Patrick Mahomes reveals his secret weapon to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to an almost perfect NFL season
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is having a great season with an almost perfect record (15-1, the best in the NFL) and is breaking records along the way. On Wednesday, he passed legendary Peyton Manning for the most regular-season touchdowns passes (245) through eight career seasons in NFL history.
Along with the Chiefs offensive power, Kansas City now owns the league’s No. 1 scoring defense at just 18 points allowed per game, in part due to defensive lineman Chris Jones, the player with the most pressures of any player in the NFL. The defense has stepped up in a big way throughout the current season.
Brittany Mahomes shows how does it feel to root for Patrick Mahomes and the nearly perfect Kansas City Chiefs
And in Mahomes’ case, he has ‘secret weapon’ that he uses every single game to have an extra advantage over his opponents: his wife Brittany Mahomes, probably the Chiefs’ biggest fan and one of the most loyal followers.
Brittany to Patrick Mahomes before a game: “Kick some a**”
Brittany Mahomes makes sure that she gets Patrick Mahomes ready for battle before every Kansas City Chiefs‘ game, and we got to see some of that on one of the episodes of Netflix’s show “Quarterback”, that goes inside the huddle and into the homes of three quarterbacks as they went through the 2022-2023 season.
The docuseries shows how Brittany Mahomes lives every Chiefs game, where she does her very best to cheer on for her very successful husband. “It’s very nerve-racking at times but it`s also very exciting getting to watch him (Patrick) live out his dream and do what he does best and freaking kill it like he does every Sunday.” Brittany said.
The Mahomes -who are already parents to a daughter, Sterling Skye, 3 years old, and a son, Bronze, who is 2- are expecting their third child. So the family and the love for football keeps on growing.
Kansas City owns the top seed in the AFC playoff picture
The Chiefs clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture on Christmas Day, doing so for the fourth time under quarterback Patrick Mahomes.Kansas City also clinched the top seed in the AFC in 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Securing the No. 1 seed means that Kansas City will receive a first-round bye in the postseason, setting up a matchup against the lowest remaining seed in the AFC field at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in the Divisional Round.

The top seed also guarantees homefield advantage throughout the playoffs, so if the Chiefs win their Divisional Round contest, the AFC Championship Game would take place in Kansas City.
The Chiefs still have plenty of work to do, but the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions have certainly set themselves up nicely for a run at history.
