Pittsburgh Steelers star misses practice before Ravens clash

Pittsburgh Steelers star defensive lineman Cam Heyward missed practice to start the week with the flu. Heyward played against the Cincinnati Bengals with the flu, but it has only worsened in the days since the game. He was excused from the team meeting on Monday and was not spotted at the facility on Tuesday, either.

Heyward is expected to play, but his limited participation early in the week will likely continue as he continues to recover from the flu. He is having one of the best seasons of his career after earning a new contract from the Steelers.

Heyward had eight sacks on the season at the age of 35, one of the most productive seasons in NFL history from an interior defensive lineman 35 or older. The Steelers need him at full health for their game against the Ravens, and he is a game-changing player who has consistently dominated throughout his career.

The Steelers gave him a new three-year contract, which expires after the 2026 season, when Heyward will have to decide if he wants to continue playing.
