The Pittsburgh Steelers may have another failed trade to add to their disappointingly growing portfolio of what if wide receiver acquisitions.
With wide receiver still a concern for the Steelers, one would have to imagine that the team would be zeroing in on acquiring an elite playmaker at the position—such as 49ers WR Deebo Samuel.
As the Steel City faithful are well aware, Samuel has been linked to the Steelers as a potential trade target—but one insider provided some troubling news regarding the possible deal.
49ers insider Matt Barrows recently made an appearance on The TK Show: A Show about Sports in the Bay Area and proclaimed that the 49ers may end up releasing Samuel if the disgruntled receiver refuses all trade destinations.
He argued that Samuel and his agent may tell the team trading for him that he’d refuse to play for that destination, leading Barrows to paint this scenario as the most likely:
“I think that releasing him and allowing him to kind of choose his next home is probably the way this is going to go.”
Will Samuel refuse a potential trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers, ultimately spelling disaster for another failed superstar acquisition?
