Social media is calling for the Pittsburgh Steelers to fire head coach Mike Tomlin following their ugly Wild Card Round loss to the archrival Baltimore Ravens.
Mike Tomlin’s Steelers were no match for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, who cruised to a 28-14 victory on Saturday night to punch their ticket to the Divisional Round. Not only did Pittsburgh end 2024 on a five-game losing streak, but their playoff losing skid has now been extended to six games.
The Steelers last won a playoff game in the 2016 Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs eight years ago. But since that victory at Arrowhead Stadium, the Steelers have now dropped six consecutive postseason games.
With Saturday’s loss, social media came together and called for the Steelers to move on from Mike Tomlin after another disheartening playoff defeat:
“Mike Tomlin really might be the most overrated coach in NFL history. He gets destroyed in the playoffs every year but he gets a pass because his teams are always pretty good in the regular season. He is the NFL version of Doc Rivers. He won a ring and has did nothing since,” said a disgruntled fan.

“Tomlin singlehandedly DESTROYED a promising Pittsburgh season with a young qb on the rise,” a fan stated
“Mike Tomlin after he gets his annual above .500 record,” one fan wrote with an image of Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers.
“Mike Tomlin is the most overrated coach in the history of the @NFL,” another fan quipped.
“Enough is enough already – Fire Mike Tomlin,” a fan said.
“With a loss tonight, I’m ready to say it’s time to move on from Mike Tomlin. This franchise has not won a big time game in over a decade and they constantly fall apart in December. Clean house and start over. It’s time,” wrote a fan.
“I’ve been the biggest cheerleader supporter for Coach Mike Tomlin we thank you for everything. It’s time for my Steelers & The Rooney family to make the call we Steelers need a new Head Coach! #HereWeGo #FireMikeTomlin,” said another.
Steelers Have To Consider Moving On From Mike Tomlin
Pittsburgh stood at 10-3 after a Week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns and seemingly had the AFC North in their laps. Fast forward five weeks later, and it’s fair to wonder if Tomlin has coached his final game in Pittsburgh.
Tomlin has done a great job keeping his team competitive in the regular season, but it’s been nearly a decade since his last postseason victory. At some point, ownership has to ask themselves if he’s really capable of getting this team close to a Super Bowl.
